Peter writes: "Avanti MicroLCS version 1.0 beta 3 has been released. This is the first public release of MicroLCS in over a year. Much of the development work during that time has been devoted to refining and improving basic features. New features in Beta 3 include a powerful and flexible boolean search capability, a redesigned user interface that is clean simple and easy to learn and use, a context sensitive help system, and standalone Java clients. Koha 2.0.0pre3

Tagged:

paul writes: "A new version of Koha, the 1st Free software ILS has just been released, and is avaible here. This version of Koha is still in the "unstable" directory, because some bugs are still reported. But it's fully useable and used in (at least) 3 libraries in "real world". The next version should/might be the 2.0.0RC1. The only missing features are a migration tool for libraries already using Koha1.2.x, and an automated upgrading tool for future version. It's possible to upgrade manually. More than 40 bugfixes and improvements. See on sourceforge."

Koha-1.9.3

Tagged:

Pat writes: "This release adds a lot of bugfixes (thanks to everyone who's helped!), a first cut at z3950 support, and a script for migration from other ILSs. This release also marks a feature freeze pending the 2.0.0 release. 1.9.3 requires a newer version of MARC::Record than previous versions of Koha. Please make sure you're running MARC::Record 1.26. We've also made a few more tweaks to the Database Schema. If you've already installed an earlier version of Koha, you will need to update your DB to reflect these. 1.9.3 is a beta level release; it is not intended for production use. If you are evaluating, testing, or playing with 1.9.3 for any reason, please help us make it better by reporting bugs on bugs.koha.org. Feel free to fix them too. As always, Koha is available at sourceforge."
